Back to School, Back to Scouting: Leaders in Action
As students across Northwest Texas returned to the classroom, local Scout leaders were already hard at work helping families discover everything Scouting has to offer.
Throughout the fall recruitment season, volunteers have stepped forward to represent their packs and troops at schools and joining events across the council. They have set up displays, shared stories, answered countless questions, and welcomed families who are exploring Scouting for the very first time.
For these leaders, recruitment is about much more than handing out flyers or explaining how to register. It is an opportunity to help a child find a place to belong.
Every conversation can be the beginning of something meaningful: a first campout, a new friendship, a skill learned, or a moment when a young person discovers they are capable of more than they realized. By showing up and sharing their enthusiasm, our volunteers are opening the door to those experiences for the next generation of Scouts.
Fall recruitment is truly a team effort. It takes leaders willing to visit schools, speak with families, organize joining events, and follow up with parents afterward. Their dedication strengthens our existing units while giving even more young people the opportunity to experience the fun, friendship, leadership, and adventure of Scouting.
To every leader who has given an evening, staffed a table, delivered a school presentation, answered a parent’s questions, or welcomed a new family: thank you. Your work matters, and the impact of every conversation may be felt for years to come.
The school year may have just begun, but new adventures are already underway across Northwest Texas.

Popcorn Blitz
Get ready to BLITZ the neighborhood! Join us on September 12 for a high-energy popcorn sales event designed to help Scouts kick off their popcorn fundraiser strong.
Fishing Derby
Join us for a free Fishing Derby at South Weeks Park Pond! All Cub Scouts are invited to cast a line and learn fishing skills with instruction provided by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
Prepared To Respond
Prepared to Respond will give Scouts the opportunity to explore emergency response, health care, public health, and safety through hands-on instruction and real-world professionals.
Scouts will work on requirements for five related merit badges.
World Scout Expedition
Join us for World Scout Expedition Cub N Pal, a weekend camping adventure at Camp Perkins for Cub Scouts and their families!
Scouts will explore activities inspired by Scouting around the world, including games, crafts, outdoor skills, shooting sports, and evening camp fun.
