Exploring Opportunities Are Growing in Northwest Texas Council
Exciting things are happening for older youth across Northwest Texas Council! New Exploring opportunities are being developed with local community partners, giving young people the chance to explore career fields, build leadership skills, and connect with professionals in hands-on settings.
Current opportunities include an Exploring post with the Museum of North Texas History and a new Law Enforcement Exploring post with the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office. These programs are designed for teens and young adults who are ready to learn more about real-world careers while gaining confidence, responsibility, and practical experience.
More information will be shared as these posts continue to grow. Interested families or community partners can contact the Council Office to learn more about Exploring in Northwest Texas Council.

July 16 | 6 -8 PM
Ready, Aim, Adventure! Cub Scouts are invited to join us for a fun day featuring BBs, archery, and slingshots. Scouts will work toward their rank-level RATA Adventures, with the possibility of completing multiple Adventures as time allows.
Bring your Scout spirit and get ready for a safe, exciting day on the range!
July 30 | 6 -8 PM
Get ready for a strong fall! Join us for popcorn sale details, recruitment resources, sign-up night ideas, and practical tools to help your unit grow, fundraise and welcome new families with confidence.
July 18 | 6 -8 PM
Make a splash and check off Adventure requirements! Cub Scouts can join us for a fun day at the pool while working toward the swimming adventure for their rank.
July 25 | 9-11 AM
Cub Scouts are invited to Lake Arrowhead State Park for a fun day of fishing, outdoor skill and adventure with Texas Parks & Wildlife. Scouts will work toward their rank-level fishing Adventure while learning basic fishing skills, conservation, and how to enjoy the outdoors responsibly.

Unit Spotlight
Troop 22 recently had the honor of performing the opening flag ceremony for the Grand Re-Opening of the Wichita Falls Railroad Museum. From the honor guard to the buglers and snare drum, the Troop represented Scouting and the Northwest Texas Council with pride.
